About The Role:

As a Senior Bid Manager, you will lead and drive the successful delivery of strategic, high-value bids across the OCS public sector business. The role is responsible for helping to shape win strategies, leading virtual bid teams, and ensuring the production of high-quality, compliant and compelling submissions that secure new business. 

The Senior Bid Manager will play a key role in influencing solution design and commercial positioning based on customer requirements as well as continuous improvement of bidding best practice. 

Key Responsibilities 

    • Lead and manage the end-to-end bid process for complex and high-value opportunities 
    • Contribute to bid strategy development, including win themes, value propositions and differentiators
    •  Facilitate bid/no bid decisions, kick-off meetings, solution workshops and the review process
    •  Interpret tender documentation (ITT/RFP) to define winning approaches and ensure full compliance
    •  Develop and drive detailed bid plans, ensuring all stakeholders deliver against milestones and deadlines
    • Lead cross-functional bid teams (sales, operations, commercial, SMEs), providing direction and challenge where required
    • Shape and review solution design to ensure alignment with client needs and competitive positioning
    •  Write, edit and oversee the production of high-quality, persuasive bid content
    • Ensure governance, quality assurance and consistency across all submissions
    • Engage senior stakeholders, including directors, to secure input and approval at key stages
    • Lead post-bid reviews, analysing win/loss outcomes and embedding lessons learned 
    • Contribute to the development of bid best practice, tools and continuous improvement across the function 

 

In order to be successful within the role, you will ideally have:
    • Significant experience managing complex bids within Facilities Management (FM)
    • Proven track record of leading and winning high-value, strategic bid opportunities
    •  Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience leading virtual bid teams
    •  Strong project management capability, managing multiple bids and competing priorities
    •  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling, client-focused proposals
    •  Strong commercial awareness, with experience contributing to pricing strategies and solution development
    •  Ability to interpret complex client requirements and translate them into winning bid strategies 
    • High level of attention to detail and quality assurance expertise

Desirable: 

    • Experience in Public Sector Facilities Management bid management 
    • Experience working on public sector frameworks or large-scale outsourcing contracts 
    • Exposure to developing or contributing to bid governance or centre of excellence activities
